Born in Ireland in 1977, Feargus Cooney has been shooting photography since he was a young child. Growing up in the picturesque Wicklow Mountains inspired a fascination and love of nature and wild open spaces.
The photographer has spent much of his life traveling the globe in search of remote and visually striking places, and conveying his experiences through his Photography and films. He has spent time on every continent except Antarctica.
Feargus has spent two years in Glasgow with his wife, photographer Eva Schreiber. In Scotland he found a place that always inspired his love of wild landscapes, containing some of the wildest areas in Europe.
Feargus holds an honours degree in Documentary photography from the University of Wales in Newport. His images have been published in various newspapers, magazines and guidebooks. He has also held several solo exhibitions and contributed to group shows in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland.
The Natural Light Gallery is the photographers UK based business. The name is inspired by the pure method of working that he employs. Relying solely on the conditions at hand, no mood changing filters are used. These images are as close to the original scenes as the photographers eye perceived them.
Currently the Gallery is based on this website, with prints and greeting cards also available through some galleries and retail outlets.
Feargus is currently living in Cornwall, UK, studying Conservation Biology and Ecology as a mature student at the University of Exeter's Cornwall campus.
